Closet organizing methods for those who can’t bring themselves to get rid of things

When you don’t tidy up the closet because you can’t bring yourself to get rid of things, don’t you find that your closet is full of things that you don’t wear?
It is a terrible waste to get rid of things that you might still wear, but please consider the fact that it is also a waste to keep clothes that you want to wear but can’t because they are lost in closet junk.

At this point, reconsider organizing storage to revive clothes that you don’t wear, rather than getting rid of them.

[1] Sort clothes into those that you wear and those that you don’t wear
[2] Donate the clothes that you don’t wear rather than getting rid of them, in order to contribute to society
[3] Find ways to make use of the clothes that you don’t wear

[1] Sort clothes into those that you wear and those that you don’t wear

This is the way to sort and organize when you have clothes that you can’t get rid of because you think it “would be a waste to get rid of these clothes because I still might wear them.”
When you sort clothes by season, type, application, color, pattern, and the like, you find that even though you may have several garments you actually don’t wear among those of the same application, color, or design.
You might have four off-white short-sleeve cut-and-sewn tops to wear to work, for example, but you hardly ever wear one of them, because it doesn’t flatter your figure, or it isn’t the kind of design that you like.

In these cases, don’t stuff things that you don’t wear into your closet, and instead, put the things that you don’t wear, that aren’t flattering, or that you don’t care for into a separate storage facility. If you have clothes to switch in for the ones you don’t wear, put the latter in a temporary storage unit so that you can consider getting rid of them later.
In addition, when you buy new clothes, sort out the ones you have with the same application but that don’t look good on you, or that you don’t care for, so that you can put them in a temporary storage unit as well.
If you don’t wear the clothes that you put in the temporary storage unit for two seasons, you can see that you don’t actually need them, and then it is easier to get rid of them.

When it is difficult to sort for storage, even marking hangers with a sticker that says "don't wear" is a first step toward organizing, so try to come up with a way to sort the things in your closet.

When you sort your clothes into those that you want to wear and those that you don’t and store them as described above, it becomes easy to get the clothes that you like and coordinate your fashions, so you can freely and easily enjoy being fashionable with just the clothes that you prefer.

It is important to avoid keeping the clothes that your sort out in hot and humid places in order to avoid the mold and deterioration that could result from storing them in such places. If there are no appropriate places in your home, it would be a good idea to keep them in a trunk room storage space that is equipped with air conditioning.

One of the reasons we wear clothes is to create a flattering appearance, so it would most certainly be a waste of your efforts if you were to go out of your way to wear clothes that are not flattering. Be sure to wear only clothes that are flattering, and clothes that you like.

[2] Donate the clothes that you don’t wear rather than getting rid of them, in order to contribute to society

Rethink how you deal with clothes that you know you don’t wear but can’t seem to get rid of.
There are a variety of ways that you can use the clothes that you don’t wear to contribute to society, rather than throwing them away. It is certainly not a waste to take the clothes that are lying dormant in your house and pass them on to people who will make good use of them.
Find ways to put your clothes to good use in society by selling them to thrift shops, donating them, and the like. Local governments conduct old clothing recycling efforts at garbage collection sites, providing a chance for the clothes that are sitting idle in your dresser to instead be put to good use in society.

It would be ideal if you could offer you clothes for sale at a local thrift shop, flea market, or auction, but for those of you who see this as a bit of a hassle, contributing to society by donating clothes is the way to go.

Create a space in your closet or dresser for “hand-me-down clothes.” I recommend that you set aside a place to keep clothes that are not damaged, but that you don’t have the chance to wear. This makes it easy to quickly and smoothly deal with clothes that you don’t need, should an occasion come up when you want to give clothes to friends, when you have the chance to go to a thrift shop, and so on.

[3] Find ways to make use of the clothes that you don’t wear

When you have a lot of clothes that you don’t wear but can’t seem to get rid of, find ways to wear them by reworking the way you store clothes and the way you coordinate fashion.
Sometimes the reason we are partial to wearing only certain clothes is a matter of some clothes being easy to access and others being hard to access. To break this vicious circle, make sure that your clothes for the current season are easily accessible.

The way to make your clothes accessible is to put them away in a manner where you can see a lot of clothes with minimal effort as you are getting dressed.
The easiest access would be to hang all of your clothes on the pole in the closet. Hang everything on the pole in your closet, including your jackets, inner wear (blouses, cut-and-sewn, etc.), bottoms (pants and skirts), belts, and accessories.

For clothes you put in drawers, use partitions to store them in a way where you can see everything at a glance rather than pile them up.

Even clothes that you think don’t suit you can change the atmosphere and become flattering when you use a different combination of tops or bottoms and add accessories such as necklaces, stoles, and belts to accentuate your beautiful figure.

If you coordinate using necklaces and scarves in shapes and colors that flatter your skin tones and facial features, you can increase the chances to use clothes that you thought of as unflattering exponentially.

If you want mix and match clothes well, consult someone in the fashion accessories department or a personal fashion stylist for help in finding accessories that flatter you. In addition, in order to find combinations that suit you, you need to actually try out a variety of combinations and really look at them objectively.
Storage goods for hanging clothes and accessories in the closet are vital toward that end.

Let me introduce some of the goods that I recommend.

You can hang several bottoms on these triple skirt hangers, even on a short pole
When you use these hangers, you can see the subtle differences among articles that are similar in color, making it easier to coordinate.

Necklace hanger
You can keep your necklaces right alongside your clothes in the closet by using this hanger with belt hooks

Stole hangers
Use slacks hangers to keep stoles and scarves here. If you use slacks hangers that are rubberized, you can hang and easily access several scarves.

Use the techniques like the ones above to increase the chances of wearing clothes that you have not yet worn much. The secret to success for closet storage is in making clothes more easily accessible.

Do your best to reduce the amount of clothes and enjoy fashion that is truly you! In order to avoid putting your closet into disarray from now on, do not increase the amount of clothes that you have, and instead, make an effort to get rid of two garments for every one new garment that you buy, and without overdoing it—little by little—you can have your closet in shipshape in about three years.

Likewise, when storing clothes that won’t fit in your closet in a trunk rook storage space, have a look at the clothes that you are keeping there every few months so that you can reassess the size of trunk room that you need at the same time you make a seasonal change of clothes.
